# About AimRank

AI that cuts cost and grows revenue, with the proof attached.

## The Story of AimRank

The Standard

2026

2026: the promise became a standard, and in July the preference ranking system went live, open to anyone. We build custom AI for businesses to the AimRank Standard, and every build carries the Four Guarantees: Measured value, Defensible, Self-improving, Yours & everywhere. An eval gate agreed before the work starts, a per-decision trace anyone can read, drift watched after deploy with an alert the moment quality slips, and the whole system running in your own environment. All four, or we tell you plainly which one we scoped down and why.

The Vision

2025

From fair fighter rankings to assured AI for businesses. From a London flat to the AI economy. Still the same two friends (but expanding), and still the same obsession that started it all: transparent methods, defensible results. Today it runs through everything AimRank ships: AI you can measure, explain, and defend, from the first automated workflow to autonomous agents.

The Bridge

2024

The bridge from thesis to practice went up. AI services (document intelligence, workflow automation, AI agents, predictive analytics) paid for it, and project by project they assembled the pieces of a preference ranking system. Each project still teaches us how to make human decisions count in the AI economy.

The Obsession

2018-2023

For years, it was our on-and-off obsession. Weekend coding sessions. Late-night discussions about "what if we applied this to everything?" The thesis gathered dust between day jobs, but the idea never left us. Every UFC event reminded us what we'd discovered: not just prediction accuracy, but fairness through mathematics. Every binary choice in daily life looked like data we should be capturing.

The Algorithm

2017

The answer changed everything. One algorithm, Glicko2, adapted from chess and modernized with machine learning. State-of-the-art results from the simplest possible input. Finally, fighters could be ranked by math, not favoritism.

The London Flat

2016

It started with MMA fights and a master's thesis back in 2016\. Two friends in a small London flat, obsessed with a simple problem: Could binary choices, just "Who wins: A or B?", create fair, transparent rankings that actually serve fighters instead of politics?
